Before practicing law as a New York bankruptcy and tax lawyer, I worked over 10 years in accounting—for both non-profit and for-profit institutions alike. Some of my accounting work found me running accounting departments in various law firms. While working in this capacity, I witnessed firsthand many of a law firm’s practices of interacting with clients. It was then when I realized that I could broaden my abilities to help a wider swathe of people in need.
After graduating from law school and earning my J.D., I worked at various law firms in Manhattan. While there, I was able to acquire critical pre and post-litigation experience in the courtroom. It became clear to me that in order to broaden the base of people I could help get a fresh start, I needed to start my own practice.
Since 1998, my firm has provided sincere, dedicated, and experienced attention to a wide range of clients. I have committed my career to helping a greater number of families who are trapped in what seems to be a never-ending cycle of debt. In addition to understanding clients' financial and budgetary constraints, my background in accounting has allowed me to provide solutions to IRS and State Tax debt when it's not dischargeable in bankruptcy. My accounting experience is rare in the field of bankruptcy lawyers, and I believe it is immensely helpful to my clients.
Both my personal and professional goals have always been centered on bringing affordable legal services to working families. My focus is to provide these families with the knowledge and experience often reserved for wealthy corporations. Making competent legal advice and services available at an affordable rate is central to my mission as a New York bankruptcy and tax law attorney. My practice is about building lasting relationships and making a difference for as many as possible.
